The Director Brittany Black Brittany is a full member and Registered Teacher with the R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dance). She completed her C.B.T.S. (Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies) in June 2008 allowing her to become a Registered Teacher with the R.A.D. In addition Brittany completed the three year teacher training school with ADAPT (Associate Dance Arts for Professional Teachers) and was award for achieving the highest academic score of her graduating class. Brittany is also a full member of the C.D.T.A. (Canadian Dance Teachers Association). In addition to her training as a dance teacher Brittany has also completed a B.A. (Hon) and B.Ed. at the University of Ottawa. Brittany is very proud of her students success including: training over high score soloist, duet/trios and groups. She has had dancers awarded for outstanding technique at competition, selected to join the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Alberta Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet in the Nutcracker at the NAC and even had dancers successfully audition to join the full time professional programs at both the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and the National Ballet School. Brittany has also been award for her choreography at numerous competitions including: CanDance, American Dance Awards and Dance Canada. Brittany students are extremely successful in R.A.D., A.D.A.P.T. and C.D.T.A. examinations which the studios holds annually. She also is very proud of the studios success being award as New Business of the Year (2007) and Business of the Year (2008). Brittany finds great joy in watching her students progress from year to year and sharing in their achievements: in class, in examinations and on stage. |

Instructors Carlyn Durning Carlyn began dancing in 1990 and during her time as a dancer studied: ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical and contemporary. She has won the titles of Miss Teen CanDance and American Dance Awards Dancer of the Year as well as completed all her Graded R.A.D. exams receiving distinction and her Advanced 1. After graduating high school Carlyn went on to dance while continuing her education at the University of Ottawa becoming a choreographer and dancer for the Gee Gees Dance Team. Carlyn has been working with competitive students since 2004. Her students have won numerous awards and she has also been awarded with 7 young choreogrpaher awards during that time. Carlyn is extremely excited to begin working with the students at Footworks. |

Kali Easton Kali's love for the art of dance began at the age of 6 when she took her first ballet class and since then has expanded her vocabulary to include: jazz and tap. Kali completed her Intermdiate exam with the R.A.D. receiving distinction. Kali has completed successfully at Footworks since 2006 being award with numerous overall high score awards, dancer of the year and special awards for potential and technique. In 2007 Kali sucessfully auditioned for the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Summer School and was accepted into their full time professional program where she studied from September 2008 to December 2009. Kali is very excited to be back in Ottawa dancing at Footworks and is even more excited to be able to share her experience with her studentS. In competition Kali has won the titles of Junior and Senior Dancer of the Year at American Dance Awards. |

Cheryl Goodwin Mrs. Goodwin has been teaching dance in the Ottawa area since 1975 and during this time played the role of both teacher and Director of the Children's Ballet Studio for 8 years. She is a Registered Teacher and Full Member of the Royal Academy of Dance, the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers, and holds the Elementary Certificate in ISTD National Branch (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). Under her tenure, students have been very successful in examinations and competitions. Mrs. Goodwin is fully bilingual and has attended courses in Toronto, ON; Red Deer, AB; and London, England. Mrs. Goodwin successfully assisted students in the Ottawa Valley attain their Teacher's Diploma in the A.D.A.P.T. Jazz and Tap Programme, and has participated the C.B.T.S. program of the R.A.D. as a mentor. Mrs. Goodwin is currently specializing in Graded and Vocational R.A.D. Ballet having successfully entered candidates in the Solo Seal examination (the highest level of R.A.D.) and has had candidates participate in the Genee International Ballet Competition. |

Shannon Granger Ms.Granger is a fully qualified dance teacher with both her teaching certificate and teaching diploma with the Royal Academy of Dance. A graduate of the Ryerson University Theatre Dance program she has been teaching for more than 20 years in many dance forms including; ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre and tap. Ms.Granger has taught workshops across Canada and has been an adjudicator at several dance compitions. Ms.Granger has won many awards for her choreography in both Canada and the United States including the Diamond Choreography Award from the American Dance Awards. Her students have scored some of the highest marks in Canada in both their Graded and Vocational ballet exams with the RAD and have won many titles at several dance competitions including Dancer of the Year at the ADA National Championships. Many of Ms.Granger's students have gone on to professional dance careers with the Royal Ballet (London England), the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the National Ballet of Canada, Ballet BC, the Alberta Ballet, Ontario Dance Theatre and many different cruise ships. Her students can also be seen dancing in the movie Barney's Great Adventure. Ms.Granger is excited to join the faculty at Footworks! |

Stephanie McGee Stephanie's passion for the performing arts began at age eight when she participated in her first jazz class. This love and enthusiasm for dance lead her to pursue further training in addition to jazz: ballet, tap, musical theatre and lyrical. Stephanie has completed exams at the senior level in both jazz and tap under the CDTA syllabus and recently began training under ADAPT. In addition Stephanie has completed her Grade 8 Award and Intermediate exams with the RAD allowing her to become a student member of the Royal Academy of Dance. Stephanie began teaching at Footworks when the studio opened in 2006. Her role at the studio has progress from a student teacher to a full faculty member helping to prepare students for RAD and ADAPT exams with great success. In 2009 Stephanie began working with competitive students choreogrpahing and rehearsing her first routines performed during our 2010 competitive season. Stephanie's competitive routines have been awarded numerous high score and special awards. In 2011 during her second season as a competitive choreographer Stephanie was awarded as the Young Choreographer of the Year at American Dance Awards. In addition to her work at the studio Stephanie attends Carleton University. |

Meaghan Oliver Meaghan began dancing at the age of 7 and since that time has studied: ballet, jazz, tap, musical theatre and lyrical. She has completed exams in jazz, tap and ballet including her Intermeidate exam with the R.A.D. Meaghan has been competing successfully with Footworks since 2007 winning many awards individually and in groups. Meaghan began assisting in 2008 and has found great joy in sharing her passion for dance with others. Meaghan enjoys the freedom and creativity which dance gives her and aims to share that with her students. |

Stephanie Paquet Stephanie began dancing at the age of 9 and has trained in many dance styles including: hip hop, jazz, ballet, lyrical and musical theatre in both Ottawa and Montreal. Stephanie has also completed her Intermediate exam with the RAD receiving Distinction. Dance has always been her passion and she loves to share it with kids. Stephanie has been teaching hip hop to kids of all ages in the Ottawa area as well as in Quebec and is fully bilingual. Alongside sharing her passion for dance, Stephanie studies psychology at the University of Ottawa as well as a member of their dance team. |
